Email To The Uncensored Report: – In response to the story of the Sarasota Woman with Zika.

In response to the story of the Sarasota Woman with Zika. I have a similar story. Please post anonymously. First of all for those saying that it’s a stupid story – I have to disagree. Last month I went to an Urgent Care center as I had been battling a virus for a week. However, I developed such intense joint pain, I could hardly walk. I had every symptom of Zika – but I hadn’t traveled outside of Sarasota County. After offering me a pregnancy test (which I declined as I knew for fact that I wasn’t pregnant), the doctor told me that I had a “tropical virus as a result of a bug bite” and that I would be just fine. However, they refused to test me for Zika and refused to put a name to the virus that I had. The reason why I didn’t go to a primary doctor is that we recently moved here from a Northern State and haven’t yet found a primary doctor. Knowing that there isn’t long term health issues with Zika, I didn’t push the issue. My only concern was & has been the fact that it seems like they were trying to cover up the fact that I could have it. What does that mean to local pregnant women? I understand not wanting to blow things out of proportion but IF Zika IS in our area – instead of covering that up – they should be making that public. Thank you!
